Price is determined by demand. While we think that this is self-evident, this idea was considered unfair in the Middle Ages. According to medieval Christian theory, everyone should be able to buy the bare necessities for an affordable price. The exhibition "The fair price" takes a look at medieval economic history. It explains how medieval trade was organised and how the attitude towards money, credit and interest changed over the centuries. In "The fair price", we experience an alternative economic model which shows us that some of today's universal truths are actually temporary truths after all.
