Station: [48] Dale Chihuly: Glass Object

Sprecher

The American, Dale Chihuly, was one of Harvey K. Littleton’s pupils. The glass object you’re looking at here is one of his earliest works dating from the 1970s. Chihuly is now one of the most famous glass artists in the world and became famous for above all, his huge, often mystic-looking glass installations, such as the gigantic swimming glass chandeliers in the Grand Canal in Venice. The production of these oversized glass chandeliers was only possible in collaboration with Venetian master glassblowers.
