Station: [11] Heinrich and Wilhelm Vernukken

“These two gentlemen are certainly no ordinary craftsmen; Heinrich Vernukken and his son Wilhelm are true artists. These sculptors are in demand whenever the project in question should turn out especially fine and elegant. And Rutger von der Horst is aiming for grandeur. Father and son Vernukken chisel stone figures, decorate an armoire for the ballroom or carve wooden stag heads for the lord of the castle, which he can attach real antlers to. This shows both of them working on a wooden statue. Once they are done, it will be mounted on the tower – after it has been gold-plated.”
