Station: [4] The blacksmith

“His is certainly the hottest workplace on the construction site – the blacksmith. Sparks fly when he takes the glowing iron from the fire and starts working on it with his bulky hammer. Particularly the big, heavy iron braces that will later connect the walls and beams have to be made to measure. Nonetheless, it also depends on the smaller pieces. If the blacksmith’s work isn’t thorough, even the castle doors won’t shut properly; the hinges are also made in the smithy, as of course are the many nails and hooks that can be found throughout the castle.”
