Station: [79] Robber
Everything I’ve experienced on my travels is just as good for bragging about as what many other people have experienced. God may not care for such silly talk, but many people like to hear it. So now I’ll talk like a braggart: It was tough when I came to raging rivers with no way to cross them. I often had to search for hours for a crossing—those were dangerous situations. Bandits lay in wait for me, but I always escaped with my life, as you can see. And then there was the hunger: I went days without anything to eat, and often I couldn’t find any water either—that was terrible. Time and again I froze miserably, couldn’t sleep for nights on end, and found no way to keep warm. That was very hard. In the communities, I had to deal with people who completely pretended to be something they weren’t and sneaked into our groups.
