Welcome to Hohenzollern Castle. 

You are standing here in front of the ancestral seat of the Hohenzollern family. The Swabian counts and princes of this family later became the Prussian kings and German emperors. 

Hohenzollern Castle is a cultural monument of national significance. At the same time, it remains to this day in the private ownership of the Hohenzollern family’s descendants. This is what makes this place so special—it is steeped in history yet full of life. 

With your visit, you are directly contributing to the preservation of the castle. We extend our heartfelt thanks to you for this. After all, a castle like this requires constant maintenance. Wind and weather take their toll. Earthquakes and salt intrusion have also caused damage. 

Currently, the focus is on restoring the outer bastion wall. The damage there is being carefully repaired. You may encounter construction work or minor inconveniences along the way.
