Margret Hofheinz-Döring, German painter and graphic artist, was born on May 20, 1910, in Mainz and died on June 18, 1994, in Bad Boll.
During her approximately 70 years of work, she created around 9,000 paintings using various techniques: oil painting, watercolor, drawing, printmaking, pastel, reverse glass painting, and many mixed media variations.
Her subjects were primarily people. During her time at the academy, she drew and painted portraits and nudes, and in the following years, she created paintings based on world literature, especially Goethe´s Faust I and Parzival. Later, she often depicted typical human situations or fairy-tale motifs. She also captured landscapes, flowers, and animals in her paintings. Her conscious use of colors and shapes is also evident in her non-representational compositions.
The gallery in the center of Goeppingen displays and manages the painter´s estate.
