Hohenstaufen
The Hohenstaufen, Goeppingen"s local mountain, offers beautiful views, hiking and cycling tours, and the opportunity to visit the “himmel&erde” mountain restaurant.

Description

With its striking conical shape, the Hohenstaufen is the landmark of the town of Goeppingen. The ruins of the Staufer family´s ancestral castle are located on the 684-meter-high mountain.

Once you reach the summit, you can enjoy a fantastic 360° view of the entire district. You can gaze quietly out over the beautiful Stauferland, borrow audio guides free of charge, sit on one of the sun loungers or swing benches, and immerse yourself in the myths, stories, and songs surrounding the mountain. The idyllic landscape around the Drei Kaiserberge Hohenstaufen, Rechberg, and Stuifen offers ideal conditions for enjoyable hikes and is the starting point for charming bike tours on the region´s well-developed network of bike paths.

A visit to Goeppingen´s local mountain can be combined with a stop at the “himmel&erde” mountain restaurant or a picnic at the barbecue area on the summit. Discover the charm and panorama of Goeppingen´s local mountain for yourself and venture up the climb!
