In the mid-19th century, Jebenhausen (a district of Goeppingen since 1939) was home to one of the largest Jewish communities in the former Kingdom of Wuerttemberg. The exhibition in the old village church in Jebenhausen tells the story of the Jews in Jebenhausen and Goeppingen.
The museum presents Jewish life, from the first settlement of protected Jews in 1777 and their emancipation, to persecution and extermination during the Nazi era, as well as their reappraisal and remembrance after 1945.
The museum sees itself as a place of intercultural exchange and dialogue between religions and offers a wide range of changing events.
