Haslau, first mentioned in historical records in 1224 and likely founded in the late 12th century, was located in northwest Bohemia near the Bavarian and Saxon borders and was a center of the textile industry as well as granite quarrying. After the expulsion of the predominantly German population in 1946, some inhabitants of Haslau fled to Dettelbach. Saved artifacts form the basis of the Heimatmuseum HASLAU und UMGEBUNG, which brings a piece of Central European history to life on approximately 140 m².
