Description

The Barolo Palace, also known as Palacio Barolo, is an impressive building located in the heart of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was designed by Italian architect Mario Palanti and completed in 1923. The construction was commissioned by Italian businessman Luis Barolo, who envisioned creating a monument to honor Dante Alighieri´s ´Divine Comedy´. The building stands 100 meters tall and was the tallest building in South America upon its completion. It is divided into three sections representing Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise, in accordance with the structure of Dante´s work. Today, the Barolo Palace is a national historic monument and houses offices as well as guided tours, offering visitors the opportunity to explore its rich history and impressive architecture.
