As a ‘window to the lake’, the Lake Constance Nature Museum shows its unique landscape. The formation of Lake Constance and its diverse habitats form the centrepiece of the exhibition. Lovingly crafted animal specimens and illustrative models provide information about the flora and fauna around the lake and what makes Lake Constance special as a body of water. Rocks from the Alps and fossils from the world-famous Öhningen quarry and other sites tell of the region´s exciting geological past - surrounded by the impressive impression of a volcanic chimney. There are also changing special exhibitions and the freely accessible play and learning area ‘stones in the river’ in front of the museum. The Lake Constance Nature Museum is suitable for families and disabled visitors.
