Description
DA, Kunsthaus Kloster Gravenhorst, is a former Cistercian convent that today presents art and cultural programs with a focus on contemporary art. It is located near the town of Hörstel, in the village of Gravenhorst. DA, Kunsthaus is operated by the district of Steinfurt.
Its thematic focus is already evident in the initials “DA,” which stand for “Denkmal-Atelier” (Monument-Studio) and refer both to the historic site and to its use as an artistic production space. The program consists of art exhibitions and historical presentations, participatory project grants, light, sound, and garden art, as well as cultural festivals, concerts, and other events such as the monastery market “Marktzauber” and an open-air cinema.
