Description
The Villa Lassen, built around 1870, was home to Gerhart Hauptmann from 1885 till 1889. The museum and its permanent exhibition with information about the life and work of the Nobel laureate in literature, who wrote his very first novels in the premises, was opened in 1987.
The museum will be closed until 2026 due to reconstruction, events are hosted elsewhere
