Welcome to the Schwebodrom - the first adventure museum dedicated to the Wuppertal suspension railroad!
Here you embark on an interactive journey through more than 120 years of technology, courage, innovation and very special stories.

From idea to icon

How did a bold idea become the landmark of an entire city?
In the Schwebodrom, you can find out why the suspension railroad was once highly controversial - and is now an integral part of life in Wuppertal.

From our legendary elephant Tuffi to the visit of Kaiser Wilhelm II: our exhibition tells of pioneering technical achievements and moving moments.

A journey through the history of mobility

Discover in our unique projection world by light artist Gregor Eisenmann how the topic of mobility developed and changed for people and cities in the 19th century.

The projection world informs and touches in a creative way, with colorful illuminations and constantly changing forms.

Adolescents, pupils
Für Kinder und Jugendliche öffnet das Schwebodrom früher. Schulklassen sind dienstags bis freitags von 9 bis 11 Uhr willkommen. Anmeldung unter schule@schwebodrom.de
