The town gallery in Altötting is housed in a time-honored building dating back to 1905, where a “mission exhibition” of the Bavarian Capuchins was on display until the 1970s - with ethnological and zoological exhibits from the order´s mission area with the Mapuche Indians in Chile. For more than twenty years now, the town of Altötting has been hosting changing exhibitions of fine art in the rooms on Pope Benedikt-Platz that have attracted national attention.
