Description

Welcome to the Stadtmuseum Norderstedt!

The Stadtmuseum Norderstedt has been certified as an extracurricular educational institution for sustainable development since 2013. The core element of the Stadtmuseum Norderstedt is its educational programmes for children, young people and adults, which convey sustainable thinking and action in situations that can be experienced by the senses as far as possible.

Stories from Norderstedt and its four founding communities of Friedrichsgabe, Garstedt, Glashütte and Harksheide will be revised and redesigned for the new permanent exhibition in 2024/25. ESD will play a key role in communicating content and formats during the revision. In special exhibitions with accompanying events, the topics of the 17 sustainability goals will be communicated in a target group-orientated and varied way. The museum's educational programmes are designed to encourage visitors to consider the impact of their own actions on future generations or life in other regions of the world when making decisions.

In order to strengthen the relevance of these goals, the museum works together with other educational and cultural institutions and not only organises its own varied educational projects for school and daycare groups, but also participates in cooperation projects such as "Klasse! Im Grünen" with Stadtpark Norderstedt GmbH, the Norderstedt holiday pass as well as the Intercultural Week and the SE Culture Days. In addition, the City Museum is involved in the ESD communication concept as part of the City of Norderstedt's ESD model municipality.
