Description

The museum presents, across roughly 200 m², more than 160 years of the regional, national and international history of the Red Cross. The Red Cross and Red Crescent movement is the world's largest humanitarian movement.

The permanent exhibition covers the work of the Red Cross as an emergency and welfare organization, but also its contribution to social developments: medical and hospital history, military history and wartime operations, the women's and peace movements, art history and much more.

In addition to the permanent exhibition, the museum organizes one—sometimes two—special exhibitions each year on specific topics. The museum also houses a public library with around 10,000 media items.
