Suworow Museum Schwanden GL
The Suworow Museum aims to make the history of the years 1798/1799 accessible to a wide audience and to promote understanding of the political, military and social contexts of that time.
The museum is a privately run, cross-cultural community project of people with diverse national and cultural backgrounds. People from Switzerland, Russia, Ukraine and Belarus work together to preserve and convey this historical cultural heritage.
The museum sees itself as a politically and ideologically neutral place of historical education and encounter. The focus is on the historical events and their interpretation from today’s perspective, not on current political conflicts.
The shared history is intended to help foster understanding and dialogue. The museum is open to visitors regardless of origin, nationality, age or personal background.
