The Zündapp Legend - Cult on Wheels at the Zündapp Museum in the Marstall Sigmaringen!
There are probably few places where nostalgia and technology are so united as at the Zündapp Museum in the historic Marstall Sigmaringen in the Danube Valley. First opened in 2008 in the former production facility of the Zoller Hof Brewery, the exhibition has been located in the historic riding hall of the Princely House of Hohenzollern, right in the center of Sigmaringen, since 2022. Spanning over 700 square meters, you´ll find what is probably the largest public exhibition on the Nuremberg cult brand, with 129 vehicles and over 250 other exhibits relating to the brand itself and its contemporary history. Revel in traditional German craftsmanship – this unique collection showcases the art of motorcycle construction down to the smallest detail and provides an overview of all the products Zündapp has ever produced. Most of the pieces come from the Tuttlingen private collector Adolf Mattes, while others were purchased by the Zoller-Hof Brewery or donated by other lenders. The two-story museum, located directly adjacent to the production building, showcases everything that makes Zündapp fans´ hearts beat faster. The first and only series-produced Zündapp car – the legendary Janus – is naturally also part of the comprehensive exhibition. The impressive collection includes, among other things, an original Levis motorcycle from England, which served as the prototype for the first Zündapp motorcycle. The Z200 from 1929 is a rare example, of which only a few remain. The beefy KS750 was used as a Wehrmacht motorcycle, and next to it is the four-cylinder K800, the most powerful machine Zündapp ever built. And of course, in addition to a whole range of famous Bella scooters, the Zündapp Museum also offers some truly unique curiosities: absolute eye-catchers include an RS50 scooter converted into a snowmobile, and a Bella scooter from 1965, rebuilt in 2003, with an incredible 33 hp! Also unique is the KS50 SuperSport, only five of which were produced, as well as a sidecar for children! At the museum´s opening, former factory rider Günter Sengfelder praised "the unique collection, the diversity of which cannot even be admired at Zündapp´s main factories in Nuremberg and Munich." Visit our unique Zündapp Museum and experience the typical charm that Zündapp machines exuded back then, and which they have lost none of to this day. Let yourself be enchanted by the "Zündapp" myth!
