Description

Mythos Zündapp - Culture on Wheels at the Zündapp Museum in the Marstall Sigmaringen

There are probably few places where nostalgia and technology are so united as in the Zündapp Museum in the historic Marstall Sigmaringen in the Danube Valley. First opened in 2008 in the old production site of the Zoller Hof Brewery, the exhibition has been located since 2022 in the historic riding hall of the Hohenzollern princely house, right in the center of Sigmaringen. On over 700 square meters of space, you will find probably the largest public exhibition of the Nuremberg cult brand with 133 vehicles and over 250 additional exhibits on the brand itself and contemporary history. Revel in old German craftsmanship - this unique collection in the world showcases the art of motorcycle building in detail and provides an overview of all products that Zündapp ever produced. Most pieces come from the private collector Adolf Mattes from Tuttlingen, other exhibits were purchased from the Zoller-Hof Brewery or provided by other lenders.

The exhibition shows everything that makes the hearts of Zündapp enthusiasts beat faster. The first and only Zündapp car ever produced in series - the legendary Janus - is, of course, part of the comprehensive exhibition. The impressive collection includes, among other things, an original Levis machine from England, which served as a prototype for the first Zündapp motorcycle. The Z200 from 1929 is extremely rare, with only a few examples left. The robust KS 750 served as a Wehrmacht machine, next to the K 800 with four cylinders, the most powerful machine Zündapp ever built. And naturally, the Zündapp Museum also offers a range of the famous Bella scooters and absolutely curious pieces to discover: absolute eye-catchers include a RS 50 scooter converted into a snowmobile, as well as a newly rebuilt Bella scooter from 1965 in 2003 with an incredible 33 horsepower! Also uniquely presented is the KS 50 SuperSport, only produced five times, along with a children´s sidecar!

The former factory rider, Günter Sengfelder, praised during the museum´s opening "the unique collection, which in its diversity is not even to be marveled at in the main factories of Zündapp in Nuremberg and Munich!" Visit our unique Zündapp Museum and feel the typical charm that Zündapp machines radiated back then and which they have not lost to this day. Let yourself be enchanted by the myth of "Zündapp"!
