Description

The Fridolin Shrine, created in 1764 by the Augsburg silversmith Gottlieb Emmanuel Oernster, is a remarkable work of silversmithing and contains the relics of Saint Fridolin. The ornate rococo shrine is located in a chapel in the choir of the Minster and is carried through the city in a solemn procession every year on the Sunday after March 6th.
Visiting the treasury of St. Fridolin´s Minster reveals the cultural influence of the former ladies´ abbey and showcases valuable pieces such as medieval gold and silver works, liturgical utensils, a book casket from the 10th/14th century, the "Agnes Cross", the "Fridolin Cup", as well as a silver Hilarius box and the historic "Amazon Fabric".
