The Gallus Tower, which was built in 1343 as a protective wall and "wave breaker" against the Rhine floods, was also part of the city wall at the time and towers massively directly on the Rhine bank. With its robust stone walls, it has always withstood wind, water, and (inclement) weather. Since 1974 and until today, it is used by the Narrenzunft Bad Säckingen as a club house and serves as a "bulwark against gloom" during the merry carnival season. It can also be rented for private events. In 2022, a "vineyard at the Gallus Tower" was created right next to the tower.
