A journey through time to Goeppingen

In June 2021, the Märklineum opened in Goeppingen, right next to the headquarters of the Märklin company. History, tradition, and modernity are closely intertwined here. At the Märklineum, you can experience the saga and myth of the Märklin brand and its products. Embark on a journey through time spanning over 160 years of fascinating company development – from a small factory for tin toys to a world-renowned manufacturer of high-quality metal toys. Märklin trains connect generations and tell captivating stories.

 

The exhibition

Products from the entire history of the company are presented on two floors. Interactive media technology and creative staging turn Märklin´s history into a captivating experience. Whether in the bathroom, kitchen, or carousel, much of what you see here revolves around model railways, but by no means everything.

 

The model railway layout

On another floor, there is a large model railway layout that takes you through all eras of railway history with a realistic day-night projection on a large screen.


The Märklineum Store

The steel structure resembles a locomotive shed, making the store itself worth seeing. Inside, numerous glass display cases showcase products from Märklin, Trix, and LGB. In addition, all well-known manufacturers of accessories are included in the range. The accompanying treasure trove offers special bargains, and Märklin Service provides assistance for every model railway. Visitors will find small gift ideas and souvenirs of their visit to the Märklineum.

 

The Bistro

The self-service bistro seats 70 people and invites you to linger. Whether for breakfast, a midday snack, or coffee and cake.
