The exhibition “Die Staufer" at the foot of the Hohenstaufen vividly illustrates the history of the castle and the medieval ruling family of the same name. Using documents, pictures, plans, and models, the exhibition presents the Hohenstaufen as a monument to German history. It also provides interesting information about the life and rule of the Staufers, everyday life in the Middle Ages, and the Crusades.
The summit of the mountain with the ruins of the Staufer family´s ancestral castle can be reached in 15 minutes from the exhibition room. From here, there is a wonderful panoramic view over the Stauferland and the Drei Kaiserberge.
