Description

The Mecklenburg Brewery Lübz is one of the largest breweries in Northern Germany and has a profound connection with the city of Lübz. Being the largest employer in the area, and the market leader in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, it has shaped the regional beer culture for over 140 years. Today, the brewery is part of Carlsberg Germany and produces approximately 1.5 million hectolitres of beer and beer mixed drinks annually.

The brewery was founded in 1877. Its history reflects the eventful past of the region – from its beginnings as a citizens´ brewery, through the DDR era, to a modern large-scale brewery. Particularly noteworthy: During the DDR period, Lübz housed the only canning factory in the country and even then was exporting its beer to the West.

Today, the brewery stands for modern brewing technology, strong brands, and regional commitment – among other things, as a sponsor of F.C. Hansa Rostock. For visitors, it is a significant part of the identity of the beer city of Lübz.

In addition, the brewery invites with a popular lunch menu and offers interested visitors exciting brewery tours with insights into the art of brewing beer:
