The Bobzin Lock on the Müritz-Elde-Waterway is an impressive piece of technical construction and a crucial point for water hikers. Built in 1924 and comprehensively renovated in 1997, it merges historical engineering art with modern technology.
Today, the lock is operated as a self-service lock and predominantly works automatically, so boats can usually be locked without a lock keeper. With a chamber length of 55 meters and a width of 6.6 meters, it is well adapted for leisure and water tourism.
A special highlight: With a hoisting height of 6.9 meters, the Bobzin Lock is the highest lock on the entire Müritz-Elde-Waterway. It is located at river kilometer 103.78 and is an exciting and impressive section of the journey for many skippers.
