[4] Observatory with planetarium

Description

Since 1980, the Planetarium of the city of Lübz has been inviting visitors to fascinating journeys through the universe. What started as an educational offer for the schools in the region, today is a popular attraction for tourists, families and everyone enthusiastic about the stars. With the addition of an observatory in 1999, the opportunity was also opened to explore the sky in a very real way through a powerful telescope.

Regardless of the weather, visitors to the planetarium experience the magic of the universe up close: state-of-the-art projection technology from Carl Zeiss Jena brings the day and night skies to life, showcasing the impressive movements of the sun, moon and planets. Up to 5,000 stars shine on the eight-meter-large dome, creating an impressive sense of space.

With suitable weather conditions, high-quality telescopes also allow a view of real stars, planets and other celestial bodies. The experience is complemented by a vivid exhibition, which provides exciting insights into the mysteries of the universe and the history of astronomy.

A visit to the Lübz planetarium combines knowledge, wonder and experience - for both children and adults alike.
