Station: [5] Gunpowder vault and powder tower

The fortress armory was located below the powder tower bastion.
Weapons and military equipment were stored here. Gunpowder was stored safely and dryly in the powder vault beneath the bastion.
Today's gunpowder tower is a 20th century replica - but a watchtower already stood here in the 17th century. The first museum rooms were located in the tower in 1907.
