This hiking trail takes in exciting stories and special places in Hallwangen.
Hallwangen will celebrate its 950th anniversary in 2025. A team of local residents has developed this hiking trail to mark the occasion. The aim is to provide a transparent overview of everything worth knowing about Hallwangen.
The route is signposted. There are also information boards at seven locations with lots of information. Knight Rudolfus, who once lived in Halldewang Castle, accompanies hikers along the route and provides an insight into the district´s past: “Dear hikers! Get ready to discover everything that has happened in Hallwangen´s almost 1000-year history. You can find out more at seven information boards. Enjoy your hike!”
Ancient traditions and historical milestones ensure that the hike remains entertaining and exciting. The circular hiking trail around Hallwangen combines the most beautiful hiking trails around Hallwangen. At just under 10 kilometres and only 165 metres of elevation gain, it is quite easy to walk. It can be used all year round. Cool forest sections alternate with sunny sections offering distant views of the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb.
Various places to stop for refreshments along the route invite you to linger. A special highlight is the BarfussPark, which is open from May to October. If you wish, you can even leave your hiking boots behind there.
The route can be shortened at various points.
