[5] Geotours in Dornstetten & Hallwangen

Description

Exploring exciting geology with exploration tasks and research questions - that is now also possible in Dornstetten and Hallwangen.

Together with Dr. Andreas Megerle, Experience Southwest, two GeoTours have been created. The GeoTours turn the topic "stones and geology" into an exciting outdoor experience. There are no information boards in the area, all texts and pictures can be found in the brochures. Have fun discovering & exploring!

 

GeoTour Dornstetten-Hallwangen - Around the Mine

The GeoTour leads through the mining landscape of Hallwangen. In connection with the collapse of the Freudenstädter graben, silver and copper ores as well as other minerals made their way to the earth´s surface here. Many historical traces of use point to their former importance for today´s Hallwangen district of Dornstetten. But also connections between layers of rock and "geo-creatures" can be explored along the GeoTour.

Start and finish: Dornstetten Barefoot Park parking lot (control parking lot, Silberwaldstraße)

Route: 2.9 km

Total ascent: 54 m

 

GeoTour Dornstetten... born from the world of rocks

This route links the beautiful old town of Dornstetten with the charming Mühlebach Valley. Step by step, the mystery of historical water supply is revealed. Because without the special geological situation, Dornstetten probably wouldn´t exist. And: Be there live as a rock is formed from water!

Start and finish: Dornstetten bus station ZOB

Route: 3.3 km

Total ascent: 66 m
