With a population of around 30,000, the garden city of Haan is a charming, cosy city close to nature.
Due to its location, the garden city is characterised by influences from both the Bergisches Land and the Rhineland. The numerous listed buildings, some in the typical style of Bergisch architecture, as well as the town centre, which has a family atmosphere and many owner-run shops, should be included in your plans when visiting the town.
Above all, Haan's marvellous natural surroundings and green infrastructure catch the eye. The garden city is nestled in a varied landscape that invites you to slow down. Surrounded by picturesque hills and meadows, idyllic brook valleys such as the Düsseltal in the north, the green Haaner Bachtal in the east and the enchanted Ittertal with its sparse beech forest in the south, the area can be explored in countless and varied ways. And there is also a green belt of parks in the urban area.
