Anyone who strolls through the dreamy alleys of the listed old town already has an inkling of the eventful past. Lovingly restored half-timbered houses, fortified gatehouses, the so-called bishop's house, the historic town hall, the partially preserved fortified church with its characteristic gaden, the parish church of St. Michael, which is well worth seeing, and art-historically significant house Madonnas and wayside shrines are witnesses of an early Franconian settlement.
