Station: [9] Cellar

In the old days, the farmers would drive up to the mill in a horse-drawn cart to deliver grain for milling. They backed the cart through the double doors straight into the cellar. Then the miller hauls the sacks up to the stone floor with the hoist. Note the trapdoor in the ceiling above. In due course, the farmers returned to deliver the sacks of flour to nearby bakeries.

These days, the cellar used by children, young people and adults, who shape the prepared dough before it goes into our bakery’s stone oven to be turned into various baked goods. You’ll be visiting the bakery next, at stop number 10.
