Description

A classic German writer, or more of a Swabian storyteller? Wilhelm Hauff may be many things, but he’s worth reading in any case – even now. The Wilhelm Hauff Museum in the Honau neighbourhood of Lichtenstein is devoted to the life and work of the novelist and poet, who died at the age of just 24. Hauff was neither born in Lichtenstein, nor did he ever visit the place. But there is nevertheless a close connection between Honau and the author. For high above the Echaz Valley towers Lichtenstein Castle – built in response to Hauff’s successful novel of the same name.
