The Steinegg Castle Chapel, belonging to the castle, was built in the 16th century during the expansion of Steinegg Castle into a palace and served as a private chapel for the castle’s residents.
Over the centuries, the castle chapel has been renovated and maintained several times, allowing it to remain well preserved to this day. The interior features rich stucco decorations as well as wall paintings depicting scenes from the Passion. The organ gallery and the seating also date back to the chapel’s original construction.
Steinegg Castle Chapel is a prime example of the long history of the castle and the Gemmingen family, and it reflects the close connection between faith, nobility, and regional tradition.
