Description

The Radeburg Local History Museum is located in the town hall built in 1813, which served as the local court from 1894 to 1952. The museum of local history was created in 1928 from a collection of various objects that were brought together by members of the Verschönerungsverein on the occasion of the local history festival in 1907. The 130 m² exhibition space presents the development of the town, its crafts and associations from prehistory and early history right up to the 19th century. One part of the exhibition is dedicated to Radeburg's famous son, Heinrich Zille. The last fundamental renovation of the museum building and significant redesign of the permanent exhibition took place between 2017 and 2021 under the expert advice of the Saxon State Office for Museums.
