The Heidelberg BODY WORLDS Museum takes you on a unique journey into the "Anatomy of Happiness" across approximately 1,000 square meters of exhibition space. Real human specimens, including numerous full bodies, individual organs, delicate vascular specimens, and transparent body slices, provide unique insights into human anatomy and physiology. They clearly explain the functioning and interaction of individual body systems and illustrate which structures are involved in the emergence of feelings of happiness. The interactions between physical processes, consciousness, and emotions become apparent, impressively demonstrating how positive and negative feelings impact physical and emotional health. On your exhibition tour, you will encounter all organ systems: musculoskeletal system, nervous system, respiration, cardiovascular system, digestion, excretion, reproduction, and prenatal development. Organ functions, as well as common diseases, are explained in a way that is easy to understand by comparing healthy and diseased organs, providing insight into the long-term effects of illnesses and addictive habits like tobacco or alcohol consumption, or even the mechanics of artificial knee and hip joints. Dive into the fascinating world of anatomy!
