Museum im Alten Rathaus
The museum's permanent exhibition shows the historical development of the town of Neckargemünd and its districts of Dilsberg, Kleingemünd, Mückenloch and Waldhilsbach. The focus is on the development of the landscape, shaped by the two rivers Neckar and Elsenz, the various economic sectors such as shipping, fishing and tanning as well as the more recent history of the town, which was significantly influenced by the family of wine merchant and Reichstag deputy Julius Menzer in the 19th and mid-20th centuries.
Over the coming years, the permanent exhibition on the town's history is to be reconceptualized and refurbished.
In two other rooms, temporary exhibitions are shown several times a year. On the one hand, these exhibitions showcase works of art by local and nationally renowned artists, and on the other hand, they focus on regional art and cultural history as well as current topics.
These rooms are available to all interested parties (artists, associations, educational institutions) as event and exhibition spaces.
Guided tours and room bookings on request.
