Welcome to the Ostholstein-Museum!
The Museum is located in the former stables of the Eutiner Castle directly at the Schlossplatz. The permanent exhibition displays Eutin's period of prosperity around 1800 with its poets, thinkers and the famous "Goethe-painter" Johann Heinrich Wilhelm Tischbein. Besides the exhibition shows landscape paintings - in particular paintings of the regional landscape, which throughout the years became the focus of the museum's collection. In addition to the permanent exhibition there are up to seven or eight temporary exhibitions per year that present painting, graphic, sculpture, applied arts or photography.
Since May 2022 temporary exhibitions have also been curated in exhibition rooms in the Cismar Monastery ("Kloster Cismar").
It is important to us to offer a varied and interesting program and thereby addressing art lovers of all ages.
We are looking forward to your visit!
