Beschreibung

This historical church, which is now Protestant, was built in three stages, initially as a Catholic Marian chapel without a tower and without a transept in 1354. The tower was added in 1504, the inscription above the entrance states that in Gothic script. Wächtersbach and thus this church became Protestant in 1543. The transept was not added until 1703, at which time a Latin school was also set up on a gallery for a few years, where the children of privileged Wächtersbach citizens were taught. The Latin school later moved to the Protestant rectory, where it existed until 1938.
