Ehemalige Synagoge

Built in Neoclassic style in 1822 as a very early synagogue in Baden, modelled on the synagogue in Karlsruhe, by Municipal Buildings Inspector J. Ludwig Weinbrenner. Minor interior alterations were carried out at the end of the 19th century. In 1938 the building was plundered and damaged. In 1977 it was purchased by the city government. It underwent thoroughgoing renovations for the first time in Baden and restored in the style prevailing at the time. Today it serves as a place of remembrance and a memorial.
