Our town of Vollmershain is unique - it only appears once on the map and you can reach it from several directions. It lies in a wonderful valley. The fresh green that always catches your eye is caused by the lush meadows that spread out to the right and left of the Mannichswalder Sprotte (the stream that flows through the town). Forested slate cliffs and flat valley slopes alternate. The village road winds through the community for almost 4 km. However, as the main street it ends in the direction of Nöbdenitz. Anyone who thinks that this is where the place ends is wrong. From this junction it is still 1.1 km to the exit of the town in the direction of Posterstein. The half-timbered buildings and the four-sided courtyards so typical of the Altenburger Land give the old thread or forest hoof village a special charm. This was probably also felt by various painters who painted many pictures of some houses and farms around 1900. Of the former 25 four-sided courtyards, 15 are still almost completely preserved. The rural character that characterized the place for over 825 years is also reflected here. To the right and left of the village, the fields stretch towards the next municipal boundary.
