Station: [17] Balancier Steam Engine

  • Technikmuseum Magdeburg

The Balancier steam engine from 1847 was made in Magdeburg and is a further development of the steam engine made by James Watt. This engine owes her name to the Balance wheel, a two –armed lever. One end of the lever is pushed up and down by the piston. On the other side, a wheel is turned by the up and down motion of the lever.
