Station: [20] WEIRD AND WONDERFUL COFFEE POTS

Just before you get to the exit, you’ll see a display cabinet with our novelty coffee pots in human shape, some of which date back to the 1940s.

On some of the pots, there are inscriptions such as "Turn away from alcohol, coffee will promote your wellbeing!"

Or: "Where folk drink coffee, feel at home, only bad people love alcohol."

They highlight the fact that coffee has always been used as a remedy against alcohol abuse.

The figure of the seated golfer is from the UK and dates to the 1980s. It may require a special sense of humour.

When you’re ready to leave the coffee museum, please take the grey door on the right of the display case. Then turn right and walk along the corridor. The door at the end will take you into the stairwell and back to Café Burg, the roaster and the shop.

We hope you’ll sample our range of coffees and find a new favourite!

If you’ve enjoyed this tour, please tell other people all about it. If there was something you didn’t like, please tell us.

We hope you’ll come and see us again, perhaps at one of our coffee, tea or gin tasting sessions!
