Station: [12] John the Baptist

John the Baptist says: The Savior is coming toward us. I can feel it; He could arrive any day now. Prepare the way for Him. Put everything in order. There is so much confusion in your hearts. The One who is coming is mightier than I am. I am not even worthy to untie the straps of His sandals. You know that I baptize you with water; He, however, will baptize you with the power of heaven. Then Jesus says to him, “John! Baptize me!” John replies, “Never, Jesus! I should be the one to bathe you to purify you.” Jesus replies, “Baptize me.” God wills it to be so! We must respond to the love God has for us. John hesitates: “Is this what God wants?” And in the end, he immerses Jesus in the water. A voice is heard: “You, my beloved! You, my beloved!”
