Station: [44] Thessalonica
Paul speaks to the members of the church in Thessalonica: Do you know—who—you are? You are my hope—before God! My joy—my honor, and also my pride. You are worth it—that I came all the way to Thessalonica—and that I am now working here with you in Thessalonica—and sweating—and am happy to be with you! We had suffered greatly before in Philippi and were mistreated, as you know. We cared for you just as a mother cares for her children. We wanted to give you not only the gospel but also our very lives, because we had grown very fond of you.
