From Paul’s Second Letter to the Church in Corinth. There, Christ says to Paul: “It is enough for you that I give to you: for God’s power is made perfect in weakness.” Here’s my take on that: When it comes down to “you or me,” I say “me”! Where I stand, there’s only room for one: me. I am strong, Paul; your weak whining is pathetic. Move back one to three spaces. Another reaction to this sentence: I want to learn that my weakness is part of it. Actually—to be honest—I don’t want to learn it. Teach it to me. I want God’s power to be made perfect. Move one space forward.
