Once upon a time, you were fleeing from me—many of you! We imprisoned you—many of you!—We put the fiery Stephen to death. But today I kneel beneath your hands! Place them on my head. Pray for me! We know that God has something great in store for us. Bless me, brother! Bless me, sister! Blessing hands—blessed heads. For Barnabas and me, it was time to take a big step and set out for lands foreign to us, where no one had yet heard of Jesus. As we said goodbye, our fellow Christians laid their hands on our heads. They prayed that God would walk with us every step of the way and bless us. With this encouragement, we set sail. Thus began our first journey, which took us first to Cyprus and then to Asia Minor.
