Station: [91] Weakness
Weakness is also a major theme for me, because I myself am not the healthiest or strongest person. Furthermore, I want to counter the super-smart, self-made, and power-obsessed with God’s different perspective. Jesus’ death turns everything upside down. The weak, who expect everything from God, are strengthened. And those who consider themselves strong become powerless. That is what I meant, and I still say it today: In my weakness, I am strong! And so I wrote to my church in Philippi: “Jesus was equal with God in every way, yet he did not cling to his equality with God as something to be grasped. He gave up all his privileges and became like a slave. He became a human being in this world and shared in human life—even to the point of dying a criminal’s death on the cross.”
