Description

Located around a central village square, this open-air museum features the following regionally typical houses and facilities:

the listed village school from 1880 with the audiovisual exhibition “Into the Future”, an extensive local history library, and the association archive, the Sniers Hus from Regesbostel which was rebuilt in Seppensen in 1986, the approximately 100-year-old bakery from Kampen,  the drive-through barn from Otter,  a demonstration beehive established in 2012, a historical smithy with the workshop of the last village blacksmith of Buchholz, Arnold Kahnenbley, established in 2013.

A well-maintained farmhouse garden on the west side of the Sniers Hus, where you can observe the change of seasons at any time, completes the picture. - The area is open to the public year-round.

Regular events held during the summer months include baking days, every 3rd Saturday of the month from 15:00 to 17:00.

The audiovisual exhibition “Into the Future” is open from April to October on Sundays from 14:00 to 17:00, and guided tours of the buildings are also available. - Additional openings are possible by arrangement.
